Discount = MP − SP
Discount% = Discount ÷ MP × 100
MP = ₹1,200 और discount = ₹180 हो तो:
Discount% = 180 ÷ 1,200 × 100 = 15%।
SP = MP × (100 − d) ÷ 100
Example: MP = ₹900 और discount = 12%.
SP = 900 × 88 ÷ 100 = ₹792।
MP = SP × 100 ÷ (100 − d)
MP = 680 × 100 ÷ 85 = ₹800।
Discount = ₹300.
Discount% = 300 ÷ 1,500 × 100 = 20%।
6. Successive Discounts
Effective Discount% = a + b − ab/100
Example: 10% और 20% successive discounts:
10 + 20 − (10 × 20)/100 = 28%।
MP ₹2,000 हो तो final SP = 2,000 × 0.90 × 0.80 = ₹1,440।

MP → discount → SP → CP से comparison
Example: CP = ₹1,000, MP = ₹1,500 और discount = 20%.
SP = ₹1,200। Profit = ₹200, इसलिए profit% = 20%।
8. Target Profit के लिए Required MP
Example: CP = ₹800।
MP = 960 × 100/80 = ₹1,200।
9. Target SP के लिए Required Discount
Required Discount% = (MP − SP) ÷ MP × 100
Example: MP = ₹2,400 और desired SP = ₹2,040.
Discount = ₹360, इसलिए discount% = 360/2,400 × 100 = 15%।
10. Ratio और Multiplier Shortcuts
- 10% discount → SP = 90% of MP → SP:MP = 9:10
- 20% discount → SP = 80% of MP → SP:MP = 4:5
- 25% discount → SP = 75% of MP → SP:MP = 3:4
Example: 25% discount पर SP = ₹900 है। SP:MP = 3:4, इसलिए MP = 900 × 4/3 = ₹1,200।

Example: CP = ₹1,000।
SP = 1,250 × 90/100 = ₹1,125.
Profit = ₹125, इसलिए profit% = 12.5%।
12. Direct CP-MP-Discount-Profit Shortcut
SP = CP × (100 + m) × (100 − d) ÷ 10,000
MP ÷ CP = (100 + p) ÷ (100 − d)
Example: CP = ₹1,000, markup = 25% और discount = 10%। SP = ₹1,125, इसलिए profit% = 12.5%।
13. No Profit No Loss और Maximum Discount
No profit no loss में SP = CP होता है।
Maximum Discount% = x ÷ (100 + x) × 100
14. Verified Previous-Year Exam Pattern
SSC CHSL के 26 March 2018, Shift 1 के previous-year question में यही pattern पूछा गया था: MP, CP से 60% अधिक था और no profit no loss पर maximum discount निकालना था। Answer = 37.5%।
15. Discount और Marked Price की Common Mistakes

16. Solved Mixed Examples
Example 1: MP = ₹1,600 और discount = 25%। SP = 1,600 × 75/100 = ₹1,200।
Example 2: 10% discount के बाद SP = ₹1,080। MP = 1,080 × 100/90 = ₹1,200।
SP = 2,500 × 0.80 × 0.90 = ₹1,800।
